You’re Beautiful. (A Social Experiment)

Written by: Mackenzie Rosa

The actual definition of beauty is; a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic sense, especially sight.

The world and everyone in it is beautiful, some people just don’t believe that. We decided to tell them and see what their reactions were and what they would say.

We started out asking students and staff some simple questions and then randomly said, “You are beautiful” or “Do you know you are beautiful?’.

We had an outstanding amount of people just say, “Thank you.” but, we had a few that gave us some very interesting answers.

Andre Simmons seemed very excited to answer our interview questions and when we told him he was beautiful he said, “Thank you, you are too.”

Skyler Reynolds gave us a very questioning answer he said, “Am I?” we told him, he was and he just nodded and said “That’s nice.”

The most interesting response response was from Cale Clark. Before interviewing him we knew that Cale seemed to have high self esteem so we knew that he would give an interesting response when we said “you are beautiful,” he responded with “Yes, I know. Is that a question?”

Another confident response was from civics teacher, Ms. Hinds. She said, “Yes I do.”

It’s proven that 96% of women wouldn’t describe themselves as beautiful. By age seven, 50% of boys desire more muscle definition. That is a very large percentage of people who are insecure; let’s change that.

Tell someone they are beautiful today.
