On Saturday, February 27th, the Lee County NJROTC Trojan Battalion went and competed in their final Drill Meet for the year. They have not done the best in the past, but they have always put out their best effort.
They traveled to the Georgia Military College in Milledgeville, Georgia, which was a two and a half hour drive from the High School.
It was a two and a half hour bus ride worth driving for these cadets! They placed fourth overall out of twelve teams. They got a second place overall trophy in SEALS, a third place trophy in Academics, and two of our cadets got second and third place medals for Knockout Drill. They were Grant Chastain (second) and Lyle Smith (third).
Overall, the cadets said they had an amazing time. The seniors are very proud of what they and the unit accomplished. Though they were sad to see their last drill competition come and go, they are very proud of what they have done. The younger cadets wish them all good luck in taking on whatever the future may hold.
