Leprechauns Origin

Written by Ayanna Newberry

Leprechauns have always been presented in cartoons and movies for generations. Leprechauns are associated with Irish and St. Patrick’s Day. They are mostly presented as kind, sweet and friendly red-headed pixies who wear green who looks after a pot of gold. However, leprechauns didn’t always look like this. Before Christianity was brought to Ireland by Saint Patrick, the Irish believed that their kings and queens descended from gods called Tuatha Dé Danann.

Now recently, leprechauns have been presented as evil in recent films as Leprechauns Origin, Leprechaun, Leprechaun 2, Leprechaun 3, Leprechaun 4: In Space, Leprechaun in the Hood and Leprechaun Back to the Hood. Unlike in the past more children are afraid of the leprechaun now than ever.
